OUR VALUES.

RAE BUILD are an experienced company but hold modern values. Based in Stafford, we are a family-owned business delivering construction projects all over Staffordshire, for over 50 years. We pride ourselves in supporting our local community, being the principal contractor for local Councils and Organisations. We understand the importance of employing local people and sourcing from our local area, but most importantly, keeping them safe along with the wider community. As an equal opportunity employer, we employ 30 local people, both professional and trades, with whom we seek to maximise their safety and personal development, investment in training has become a key quality control target.

Wages are well in advance of the living wage and that in return helps us maintain a workforce which is skilled, experienced, and above all proud to work for the business. This commitment means we actively wish to retain our older employees, as they pass on valuable skills and experience to younger employees particularly those on company apprenticeships, and even local school children on work experience schemes under appropriate supervision.

RAE BUILD invest heavily in the infrastructure of the business to support our growth and to protect the core business practises, further supported by the long-term relationships we have with our local suppliers and subcontractors, who we encourage to follow similar business practises to our own.

Strong financial control enables the long-term vision to succeed, to ensure the long-term security of the business, and to ensure that our stakeholder payments are made in a timely manner.

Accreditations and business compliance have become critical to us in recent years to ensure we continually improve as an entity to deliver the best package possible, ensuring the highest standards in health and safety, quality control and business practices, along with environmental concerns. The culture we have developed supports our key Ethics of our business. From the welfare of employees and stakeholders, business governance, procurement of materials and the overall environmental and social impact of the business we undertake.

The business has grown and has the support structure to make us a leader among our peers. RAE BUILD aim to continue to lead in the challenging times ahead by firmly supporting our business principles, this shared vision with our employees, stakeholders, and the local community.

HEALTH & SAFETY.

Understanding and recognising our H&S responsibilities is paramount to our business. RAE BUILD adhere to all relevant legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, in addition, we are also registered with CHAS and are ISO 45001 Certified.

Having a safe and risk-free environment for both employees, clients, and the public at large, is integral to how we run sites. Our comprehensive Health and Safety Policy, which is communicated to all relevant people and available for all, is reviewed annually and supported by professional bodies such as Citation Ltd and R.G Wilbrey Ltd. Whilst all management and site staff receive full training in both H&S and trades, which is recorded and updated, we feel it is important to have external support from third party specialist consultants to add that extra layer of safety. Indeed, they perform regular site visits to carry out unbiased inspections.

As a company we expect our employees, subcontractors, and suppliers to comply with our Health and Safety Policy and best practices. All our Subcontractors are assessed to ensure compliance. As part of our quality control ISO9001 we ensure all necessary inspections, training, site health & safety plans are completed, communicated, and respected. Employees are encouraged to speak out if there is anything of concern.

ENVIRONMENT & LAW.

Having become ISO14001 compliant several years ago, we do our upmost to ensure that RAE BUILD complies with all environmental legislation and that all employees involved understand the legislation that affects them. All directors/employees recognise the need to reduce environmental impact in the carrying out of our duties:

Whilst we are not big waste producers, we still have a huge responsibility to play in environmental issues, including visual and noise related factors.

We promote the philosophy of reuse, reduce then recycle throughout the business to minimise waste. Site managers are issued an environmental pack to ensure our 40-step action list is being implemented where it’s relevant. This covers all aspects from waste disposal, contamination, COSHH and hazardous goods, energy and fuel use, office consumables & WEEE disposal.

All RAE BUILD employees have Environmental Awareness training and to ensure that our operations are environmentally sustainable and economically feasible, we ensure that our suppliers and contractors all recognise our environmental responsibilities.
