Repurposed Rooms

Overview

RAEBUILD successfully completed a refurbishment and conversion project at The Bridge Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, transforming underutilised areas into modern, flexible spaces that support both business and community use. The project focused on repurposing redundant accommodation to create a new facilities.

The Brief

The Bridge Centre required the conversion of several redundant areas within the building to create additional usable accommodation that would support its growing range of business, community, and event-based activities. The brief called for the transformation of an unused boiler room and former coal house into functional, welcoming spaces that could be used by a variety of user groups.

In addition, new WC facilities were required within a previously underutilised area to improve accessibility and convenience for visitors. The objective was to maximise the use of existing space while creating attractive, practical facilities that would enhance the Centre’s offering and generate additional opportunities for room hire and community engagement.

The Solution

We delivered a carefully planned refurbishment and conversion programme that transformed previously redundant spaces into valuable new facilities. The former boiler room and coal house were fully renovated and repurposed to create a dedicated craft room and a modern meeting room, providing flexible accommodation suitable for workshops, training sessions, meetings, and community activities.

The project also included the installation of a new WC block within an unused area of the building, improving facilities for visitors and supporting the expanded use of the Centre. Working closely with The Bridge Centre and LiDR Contract Furniture Ltd, the project was completed to a high standard, creating attractive and functional spaces that integrate seamlessly with the existing building.

The Outcome

The completed project has significantly enhanced The Bridge Centre’s facilities by bringing previously unused areas back into productive use. The new craft room and meeting room provide flexible, high-quality spaces that can be hired by local businesses, community groups, and organisations, supporting a wider range of activities and events.

The addition of new WC facilities further improves the user experience and functionality of the building, helping to meet the needs of a growing number of visitors. The result is a more versatile, accessible, and commercially viable facility that strengthens The Bridge Centre’s role as an important hub for the local community and business sector.
