RAEBUILD are extremely proud and honoured to have undertaken the restoration of an important memorial bench in Milford, so it can remain in the community for many years to come.
54 years ago, the bench was donated by the friends of Milford in memory of Helen Overmire’s late grandfather, Hubert Nickolls, and it has stood as a symbol of his life and legacy ever since.
Despite the ravages of time and the unfortunate acts of vandalism, the bench has persevered, a testament to the strength of the community and the enduring spirit of those it honours.

After the loss of her father, the family felt a profound responsibility to restore this memorial to its former glory, to ensure that it continues to stand as a monument to both Hubert and her dad.
Helen commented: “It is with deep appreciation and gratitude that we reflect on the Milford memorial bench, a testament to the enduring impact of family.
“The incredible team at the local business, RAEBUILD, took on this task with unwavering dedication and skill. To say that we are delighted by the renovation would be an understatement – we are beyond grateful for their efforts in preserving this cherished piece of our family’s history.
“This memorial bench serves as a reminder of the profound impact that our loved ones can have, even long after they are gone. It is a testament to the power of community, the resilience of the human spirit, and the enduring love that binds us all together. We are truly honoured to be the caretakers of this special place, and we look forward to sharing its story with generations to come,” added Helen.
“We will be adding a new plaque to honour not only Hubert & Brian but also the team who made this request a reality,” concluded Helen.
